Sandy Hook Hoax Debunked - Hoaxer claims debunked Part I.

Mike Fl of Sandy Hook: Focus on Facts has done a great job putting together an comprehensive debunking a number of the claims regarding the Sandy Hook Massacre. This information is must read for those with questions, fair misconceptions, or if going toe to toe with hoaxer liars.

I wanted to post his work on my blog for reference and exposure.

1. The claim of exactly 26 Christmas trees lined up beside the firehouse (Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire and Rescue) on December 14th.
  • "The firehouse also got a call from someone in North Carolina who, after seeing in the background of a TV news report that the department was running its annual Christmas tree sale as a fundraiser, promptly bought 26 trees and asked the department to put them out at the shrine across the drive." http://www.contracostatimes.com/ci_22210001/sandy-hook-first-responders

  • "A barrage of volunteers moved more than 500 trees from the back of a truck to the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company lot on Riverside Road, stocking it on November 23 for the company’s 12th annual tree sale. 2. The claim that News 12 Connecticut chopper footage shows people walking in circles/recycling around the firehouse.
  • Below are three witness accounts about the scene at/inside the firehouse. All three coincide with the back rooms being where children were grouped by classes, all three coincide with children being moved from the back rooms to the front bay, and 1 and 3 include about children being signed out and picked up.
  1. "Children were evacuated to the firehouse. They sat by class in several of the back rooms. Parents tried to find their children. It was chaos. It was then announced that the classes would be moved to the front bay so that it would be easier for parents to find their children and sign them out. The children then went from the back rooms to the front bay – they walked through the firehouse, not around – while parents went around to the front. That was the biggest flow of people on the video.   2. "There was a private room for families who could not find their children. And this was heartbreaking. When we arrived we went into one of the back rooms through the side entrance on the right of the building behind the bay. The teachers had all the kids grouped by grade, lower grades in the back and upper in the front. It was packed inside. At one point they pulled the fire trucks out of the bay and we started to line up the children by grade in the bay. There is an internal door so there would be no video of moving all the kids.   3. "The way back is where all the teachers and kids first went in and sat as classes. The front Bay Area is where they ended up bringing each class with teachers for parents to sign out. So parents who were hanging with their kids in the back were then told to go to the Bay Area to sign kids out to take home. That's why it looked like they were going in circles. The kids moved from the back rooms to the Bay Area. So parents were going back and forth especially if they were looking for more than one child." (Facebook message.)
3. Six children at the end of Gene Rosen's driveway.
  • While Gene Rosen has reported that there were six children, what he was unaware of is that two were the bus driver's children.

4. The claim that Gene Rosen has worked for FEMA.
5. The claim that the shooter, AL, never existed.
  • A former classmate who was in a computer repair class with AL in 2008 at Newtown High School: "My family members are safe, but my friend's little sister was killed. My best friend's nephew was getting ready to go to afternoon kindergarten at Sandy Hook when they got the call about the active shooter situation. I know almost all of the families of the victims. I used to play little league baseball at Sandy Hook elementary and went to smart camp there in the summer. the most memorable part about the school were the big colorful painted footprints on the long driveway to the school. I had a class with AL in 2008. It was computer repair with Mr. Swetts at Newtown High School. He had an autism spectrum disorder. He was a very quiet and polite kid. The most disturbing part is that in that class kids brought in counter strike 1.6 on discs and installed it. the classroom was set up so there was an area for lessons, and an area for repair, and the teacher's office. while the teacher was in his office or helping kids repair, we would play counter strike on lan and AL would play with us. i even did a group project with him. he was incredibly smart, and basically fixed the whole computer by himself while i was goofing off. i tried to be nice to him every day. He never once spoke as long as i knew him. if he smiled he only smirked. he clearly had a lot going on in his mind. he was fearful of people, he would always walk right up against the side of the hallway, with eyes to the ground clutching his briefcase that he carried instead of a backpack. if anyone bothered him or bumped into him he would clutch his briefcase against his chest. he was really small and weak. It was clear that he had an interest in guns. It fills me with so much anger that this happened. I know where he lives, and from his house he would have driven past the high school to get to the elementary school. I believe that he was afraid that security guards or high school kids would be strong enough to tackle him or overpower him, so he chose the elementary school for the easiest possible people to kill. 6. The claim that Sandy Hook Elementary School was not an operational school/closed for an X amount of years/Wayback Machine doesn't show snapshots.

7. The claim that there was information about the shooting before it occurred (such as Facebook pages, videos, blog posts, articles, Twitter feeds, Google search results). 

  • Facebook pages were not memorial pages at the time of their creation. Facebook pages, such as R.I.P Victoria Soto: http://imgur.com/mXaWbpc.png, were originally under another page name and had a different URL name, before the shooting occurred.
At the time, Facebook stated: "You can't currently change the name of a Page with 200 or more likes."(Now Facebook allows you to request a name change, providing instructions on how to do so: http://www.facebook.com/help/271607792873806)

However, with less than 200 likes, the page name can be changed, which also automatically changes the name of the URL. You cannot change the date a Facebook page was created.

You see that the page name is Proof1, URL has Proof1 in it, the page has 1 like, and Proof1 joined Facebook 10 hours ago: Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11:18pm.

After changing the name from Proof1 to Proof2, you see that the page name is Proof2, URL has Proof2 in it, the page has 1 like, and Proof2 joined Facebook 10 hours ago: Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11:18pm.

Note: Changing the date of when a page was founded (or born, started, opened, created, launched) does not change the date of when the page was actually created:

  • There were no Twitter tweets posted before the shooting. Twitter's headquarters are based in San Francisco, California, there time zone being Pacific. When you are not logged in, you will see a tweet's time in Pacific. When you are logged in, you will see a tweet's time in the time zone you have set via your account's settings.

  • Dates displayed in Google search results aren't always accurate. 8. The claim that Christopher Rodia/his car was at Sandy Hook Elementary School due to his name and license plate being heard on the recording of a police radio transmission.
9. The request for video footage at/inside Sandy Hook Elementary School.
  • Sandy Hook Elementary School did not have security cameras. There was only a call box, buzzer system with a video camera, at the exterior of the main entrance to let people in, which did not have any recording capabilities.
10. The claim that Sandy Hook victims do not appear in the Social Security Death Index (SSDI).
Note: https://www.dobsearch.com/death-records lists all the victims, except Ana Grace Márquez-Greene. Same with http://search.ancestry.com/search/db.aspx?dbid=3693. I do not know why. Ancestry, however, does list Ana under United States Obituary Collection.

14. The claim that Anderson Cooper's nose "disappeared" in the interview with Veronique Pozner is due to green screen.
15. The claim that Robert (Robbie) Parker works for SpotterRF.
  • Before moving to Washington, the Robbie Parker from Sandy Hook was a physician assistant at Danbury Hospital.
  • "With our mediocre negotiating skills, we were able to get Robbie’s new job to do the moving for us. 16. The claim that Robert (Robbie) Parker called 911 (from outside of Sandy Hook Elementary School).
  • "Robbie Parker and his wife Alissa moved to Newtown eight months ago after Robbie got a job as a physician’s assistant at Danbury Hospital. That is where Robbie was when he heard about the shooting. The hospital went into lockdown and Robbie went to the emergency room expecting that some of the children might be taken there.   • "Robbie, a health care professional, worked at Danbury Hospital. When Checketts reached him there, the facility was on lockdown due to the school shooting.   • From someone who worked with Robbie, he was watched pacing all over the floor at warp speed with this look of complete anguish on his face. They got him calm, got him to change his scrubs to street clothes, and told him to go to his wife.
17. The claim (along the lines of) "there's a rumor it's fake" being heard in call 3 from the 911 calls, starting at 1:54.
18. The claim that no paramedics entered Sandy Hook Elementary School to assess the victims.
19. The claim that two weapons were found in the trunk of AL's car.

21. The claim that we were lied about when school evacuation times were, via the final report timeline, due to the dash camera recordings not matching up.
  • From CFS 1200704559\Book 4\00184096.pdf, page 1 (going by the page number on the document): "The programmed times on several mobile video recorders were found to have been set incorrectly. 23. The claim that the money shown in a photo, from the final report, was found in Victoria Soto's classroom.

25. The claim that Steve DeMartino, who is on the mailing address for sending checks to donate for Allison Wyatt Memorial Fund and Fund For Allison's Sister, is the name of someone who has passed away before December 14, 2012.
26. The claim that two nuns are wearing identification badges, wearing 511 Tactical Shoes, and that one nun is carrying a gun under her coat.
27. The claim that a 2010 forum post, by kathaksung, predicted the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
28. Sandy Hook appearing on the Gotham City map in The Dark Knight Rises movie.
  • "Susan Getzinger: I haven’t seen the movie Batman yet and my husband never told me the ending of anything (they are under strict confidentiality with hiring contracts, etc…) but it is COMMON practice for props guys especially to put cool family/neighborhood things in films as a cool fluke for their kids, etc…
My husband was always doing stuff like that if the movie permitted it and it received approval (directors, producers have the final say). 29. The claim that Dr. H. Wayne Carver, Chief Medical Examiner, supported Bill 1045.
  • Wayne Carver is stating that he believes the current statue, regulations and practices already address the issues that are in the proposed Bill 1045, thus he does not support the bill, finding it redundant and unneccessary.
"I believe that the proposed legislation is however, redundant of current statue, regulations and practices."
"I do however; believe that the current statutory and regulatory scheme covers the issues that I perceived to be addressed by the proposed legislation."

30. The claim that Lt. Paul Vance said that anyone who spreads misinformation about the Sandy Hook, December 14th shooting, will be prosecuted.
  • From Lt. Vance's press conference, he states: "There has been misinformation coming from people posing as the shooter in this case, posing using other IDs, mimicking this crime and crime scene and criminal activity that took place in this community. There's been some things in somewhat of a threatening manner."

Lt. Vance is clearly referring to what is found to be state or federal law violations, as also noted in the official press release below.

31. The number of students who attended Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The total staff count for the school is 91. On December 14, 2012, there were 9 staff members absent thus  leaving a total of 82 staff members in the school that day. Two students probably left between the time frame of November 30th and December 13th, though getting that confirmed would be great.

While I am not sure what happened here. I would like to point out that most of your "debunking" facts are opinions and from the "official" story. You're really going to tell me that in all that chaos they only managed 3-5 STILL photos of kids being evacuated? This is the big thing for me. With all these kids in the school and all the cameras and flying helicopters they only managed to get a few questionable still photos....

Why would they bother to redact just the video part of the evacuation? then release still pictures of it? this is where the whole crux of the case comes down to. no reason whatsoever to redact the dash cam video. you are quick to give "debunked" on everything including that but offer no good reason as to why such video should be redacted?

gee, maybe because they weren't counting on people to believe everything they see and read on YOUTUBE! nor, did they think it would matter, nor did they think anyone would care if its a photo or a video. maybe because the pictures showed more then the video with close ups? its the media, they'll do what ever it takes to capture the moment.

Here's the unscrambled audio related to Christopher Rodia. He provided more detailed information than what would be ceded from a driver's license. The man was apparently reading from a computer screen. Notice how long it takes for him to find (9 seconds) his birthdate.

Who in their right mind, unless being a reporter would take pictures in such a heartbreaking incident? where does your appetite end? at 5, 10, 20, 100 photos?
